OSU PACWAVE UTILITY CONNECTION & MONITORING FACILITY

HGE worked with Oregon State University’s PacWave departement to develop a state-of-the-art wave energy testing facility on the Oregon coast. The project consists of 3 buildings, 2 pre-engineered metal buildings and one traditional stick frame. Due to long lead times of the specialized medium volage electrical equipment, the project was split into two phases, the first being a site prep phase, and the second to construct the buildings, install equipment and utilities, and finish the site work.

HGE worked closely with PacWave and their consultants to coordinate the project’s intensive requirements, from isolated fence panels to 7-mile cables being bored from the ocean floor to the project site. The project has been a great success and is now one of the world’s most advanced wave energy test facilities.
